Putting the Garden to Bed

I haven’t posted much recently or visited many blogs.  One reason is bone-idleness.  Another, that I needed a break from all things blogging.  And a third was because I wrote an article for Wayfair.co.uk.

When I was 10, I had a letter published in the comic, ‘Donald and Mickey‘.  Hardly a great claim to fame but hey, it was ‘Star Letter of the Week’ and I won a Polaroid camera.  My mother was very, very proud.  (A few months later, they also published a joke I’d submitted but now I’m boasting).   And that is about the full extent of my published work.

Here then is my first since about 1973.

Putting the Garden to Bed

And with that, I’m off to Amsterdam for a few days.  See you soon.

    • Thanks Sue. We had quite a bit of rain in Amsterdam so not great for photos, I’m afraid. ‘Sides I was a little busy enjoying city life. It all seemed incredibly exciting after muddy Sussex gardening. Dave

  1. Just read your article, well done, a gardeners work is never done, I can imagine a lovely walk along the lane in the last photo too. I hope you have a wonderful trip. 🙂

  2. Well done Dave, but I prefer the picture quality you maintain on your blog. Autumn is my busiest time, it is the ONLY time to plant successfully here. I hope you are getting lots of fine days to do all the work

    • Hi Christina, it was odd seeing my words and photos presented differently (and psst, yes I agree about the bigger photos). Lots of rain here unfortunately and warm too so lots of long grass which I can’t mow. Hey ho. But thanks anyway for your hope. D
